"I'm running for school director because I believe the Lampeter-Strasburg School District deserves board members who are committed to thoughtful, collaborative decision-making around educational improvements and budgeting. Our district needs leaders who will ask meaningful questions about cost-sensitive renovations, and actively seek ways to expand educational opportunities and support for students in a public school environment.
As someone who regularly attends school board meetings, I've seen a pattern of automatic approvals with little scrutiny—except when it comes to funding already approved expenses. I believe the board can play a stronger role in ensuring best practices are pursued and review expenses with care.
My passion for educational excellence, retaining talented staff, and managing costs in a community already facing financial pressures drives my commitment to serve. I'm ready to bring a fresh, deliberate perspective to our school board."

"My interest in becoming an L-S School Board director began soon after my retirement from thirty-two years of working in Public Education. During that time I had the privilege of working with many school directors and experienced the importance of quality board leadership and decision making that was needed to support the learning environment for the students.
We are experiencing a unique time in education where collaboration, transparency and open dialogue are key to ensuring quality and strengthening what occurs in the classroom. This is where my experiences in two different school districts and an Intermediate Unit can support and coalesce the collective knowledge of all involved that strive to improve and ensure that quality learning is paramount in the L-S school district.
I do not take the role of being a school director lightly as it necessitates an understanding of educational requirements, resources and facilities, and the ability to balance the financial impact for the educators and the community. I believe that my experiences in public education have given me great depth of knowledge in these areas that could be utilized to support the leadership of the district and develop the vision for innovation and growth.
It would be my privilege to be in this role to work towards moving the district forward for the students and residents of Lampeter-Strasburg."

West Lampeter Township Supervisor
"I'm Tracy Arnold, a resident of West Lampeter Township for 23 years.
I worked in power generation for over 34 years, including positions in regulatory compliance, audits and assessments, and work coordination. In each of these roles, my primary responsibility was to protect public health and safety, which is also the responsibility of the Board of Supervisors.
I'm running for West Lampeter Township Supervisor to make a difference in our community and bring a new perspective to the five-member Board.
Having attended board meetings over the past year, I see opportunities to be more efficient and timely in the enacting of ordinances and adoption of resolutions and policies.
As a member of the Board of Supervisors, I would create and take advantage of opportunities to engage with community members. "
Strasburg Township Supervisor
"I'm Todd Weiss, and a resident of Lancaster County for 35 years. I've been a resident of Refton since 2018.
I'm a technology journalist and have written for many of the major tech publications, including Computerworld, eWEEK, PC World, etc. When I first moved to Lancaster in 1990 from my hometown of Philadelphia, I was staff writer for the former Lancaster New Era newspaper (now LNP), where I covered county government including the County Commissioners and the County Planning Commission, farming, farmland preservation, and more.
I served three terms on the East Petersburg Borough Council. I was first elected in 2001 after the town had a zoning controversy due to a probation and parole center that was proposed to be in a residential neighborhood. As a neighborhood, we organized and pushed to have the center located instead in a commercial area. After a short time, we stopped the proposed development.
As a Borough Councilman, I worked hard to be sure that residents always knew what Council was doing, ensuring that we explained all proposed ordinances, actions and procedures so that residents had all the information they needed to know that their local government was operating well. I de-mystified government acronyms at public meetings and made sure that residents knew what we were doing.
I also served on the Borough Planning Commission, which gave me broad experience in land use issues. I was also selected to be a Borough's representative to the Lancaster Intermunicipal Committee's (LIMC) 'Growing Together' regional comprehensive plan committee, which brought together 13 municipalities to create a plan to help with planning as they shared borders in the heart of the county.
I'm running to bring a fresh look and viewpoint to the Strasburg Township Board of Supervisors. It is good that we have an experienced board with decades of service each, but it is time for some fresh ideas, fresh outlooks, and fresh thinking when it comes to everything from neighborhoods to farms, roads, green spaces, conservation and more. I am running against longtime Republican incumbent Peggy Dearolf, who has served more than 20 years. Mrs. Dearolf has stated in previous public meetings that the Strasburg Township Supervisors have always done things in the same ways year after year, decade after decade. Building on the past is fine, but it is 2025. I believe we also need to think in new ways when faced with new situations when warranted. I hope to earn your support and your vote."
